On December 17th, according to Cryptoslate, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK launched a public consultation on cryptocurrency regulation on December 16th, 2024. The new framework aims to balance innovative development and risk control, with a focus on combating market manipulation, financial fraud, and other issues. FCA proposes authorizing trading platforms to share suspicious market abuse information and will restrict unregistered crypto businesses from operating. The consultation period will continue until March 14, 2025. The draft regulatory framework is expected to be introduced in 2025 and is planned to be fully implemented in 2026, covering areas such as trading activities, stablecoin regulation, and asset custody.
