Raydium is launching a platform similar to “pump.fun” LaunchLab

On March 19, Raydium is launching a token launch platform similar to pump.fun, called LaunchLab. The launch of the platform, called LaunchLab, comes less than a month after the popular Solana Meme coin launchpad pump.fun was reported to be developing its own AMM.

This effectively ends the informal partnership between pump.fun and Raydium. LaunchLab will provide linear, exponential, and logarithmic bonding curves to match the demand and price of tokens. It will also allow third-party user interfaces to set their own fees.

pump.fun’s token will deposit part of its liquidity into the Raydium trading pool and destroy it when the market value reaches $69,000. According to Blockworks Research, pump.fun’s meme coins accounted for 41% of Raydium’s transaction fee revenue in the past 30 days. Raydium’s native token plunged 25% in February as investors expected a sharp drop in revenue once pump.fun began migrating tokens to its internal AMM.

Even after the flash crash, Raydium still had about $168 million on its balance sheet, according to Blockworks Research. The benefit of having ample funds is that it allows the company to act quickly, such as suddenly developing a fork of pump.fun.
