On January 6, Cointelegraph reported that Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich said that “this year’s goal is to increase its Bitcoin holdings to 10,000 “using the most value-added capital market tools we have available” to expand Metaplanet’s influence in Japan and the Bitcoin ecosystem.” According to BitcoinTreasuries data, Metaplanet is the largest corporate Bitcoin holder in Asia, ranking 15th in Bitcoin holdings among listed companies, and currently holds 1,762 Bitcoins.
Gerovich attended MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor’s Bitcoin New Year’s Party and said, “If President Trump does use Bitcoin as a strategic reserve, many countries will follow the United States’ footsteps, and Japan and many other countries in Asia will follow suit.”
